I promise to pay @amira the sum of fifty pounds, from my #trustfund straight into her #rainyday.

@shah, keeper of the #trustfund

فلوس

faloos /fa·loos/ noun

1. Everyday Arabic for money. From fals, a small copper coin, which is why our logo is one.

2. An app for paying your friends, bank to bank.

In circulation, soon

Five notes on paying friends.

Each one covers a part of Faloos. Move across them, or scroll past, and the engraving moves with you.

Note I Bank to bank

Your bank. Their bank.
Nobody in between.

When you pay a friend, the money leaves your bank and lands in theirs. Faloos sets it up and never holds it, so there's no balance to top up and nothing parked with us.

“Pay friends bank to bank. We never hold your money.”

Your bank

Their bank

Faloos sets it up, never holds it

Note II The sentence

Write it the way
you'd say it.

Every payment is one line: your handle and one of your accounts, the amount, then your friend and one of theirs. A nickname belongs to one account, never to a bank.

Tap a part of the sentence to change it.

Note III Approval

Nothing moves until
you approve it.

You approve every payment with your face or fingerprint, for the exact amount and the exact person. If anything changes before it's sent, nothing is sent.

£50 => @amira#rainyday

Approved with a fingerprint for £50 to @amira.

Note IV The feed

Friends see the fun part.
You choose the rest.

Your feed shows payments as @shah £50 => @amira. Everyone chooses whether their account nicknames show.

  1. @shah #trustfund £50 to @amira #rainyday
  2. @jonno £12.50 to @shah #beermoney
  3. @amira #rainyday £8 to @priya
  4. @priya £30 to @jonno

@amira shows her nicknames. @jonno and @priya don't.

Note V Codes & bills

A little code.
A whole bill, settled.

Share your own pay link or QR code: anyone who scans it can pay you, with an optional amount and note. Short 7-character codes work as a reusable price tag, or as a bill with open slots that anyone can claim. Requests and splitting a bill are in there too.
