Faloos · brand sheet Concept 05 · Arrow Proposal, not final artwork

One glyph does the work.

Every Faloos payment is a sentence, @shah#trustfund £50 => @amira#rainyday, and its arrow is the brand. It is the logo, the layout and the motion. Everything else is near-black type on paper, on a strict grid.

The mark

s s weight 0.36 s bars at ±0.5 s · butt caps 90° chevron · mitred tip length: anything ≥ 1.9 s
Construction. The tail stretches; the head never changes.

The arrow is geometry, not a font glyph: two bars and a 90° chevron, with the weight set at 0.36 of the chevron’s half-height.

One function draws every arrow you see on these pages, from the favicon to the arrow that travels between sections. That’s why one arrow can stretch into the next without a seam.

  • Always Signal. Never outlined, never a gradient, never a shadow.
  • It points right on wide screens and down on phones. It never points left or up.
  • It stretches to fill a line. The chevron keeps its size.

Rejected study · F monogram

An F whose arms are the equals sign. Clever large, but below 32px it reads as a flag, so the bare arrow carries the brand instead.

02

Colour

Monochrome plus one signal

Near-black and paper, reversing section by section, plus one electric orange. If it’s orange, money is moving or you can press it. Nothing else is ever orange.

Why orange: it’s the colour of things that move and must be seen, from signal flags to the red-orange of Swiss posters. It sits at hue 34, warm of alarm red, so it reads as “go” rather than “error”. It stays readable as a graphic on both grounds and makes the arrow the brightest thing on any screen.

The brand face for handles, nicknames, amounts and labels. It’s monospaced and variable, so weight can change without moving a single letter: handles sit at 650 and nicknames at 220, and the composer fits a poster with arithmetic instead of measuring.

The display and text face. It’s a neutral neo-grotesk that holds up on a Müller-Brockmann grid, cut tight at display sizes (−0.052em) so a sentence reads as one shape. We turn on cv05 and cv08 so l, I and 1 never get confused in a handle. It’s open-licence, with tabular figures and wide language coverage.

Voice

Write it as a sentence

Short, declarative, a little dry. Say what happens, in the order it happens, and stop.

  • Handles and nicknames stay lowercase, exactly as typed.
  • Every amount is set in Paper Mono, in pounds.
  • One idea per line. The arrow replaces “sent to”.

Motion

Precise, never bouncy
01 · Tension, then release

The head pulls away (220ms, power2.in), the tail snaps after it (300ms, expo.out), and a fresh arrow grows from the tail. Logo hover, buttons, confirmations.

02 · It travels

your banktheir bank

Left to right on wide screens, top to bottom on phones. On the landing page one arrow travels from sentence to sentence as you scroll, docking in each.

03 · Weight, not bounce

#rainyday

Emphasis comes from Paper Mono’s weight axis, not from scale or springs. The letters never move, because the font is monospaced.

04 · Tracking settles

their bank

Sentences arrive widely tracked and tighten into place over about a second, ending at −0.052em.

Never: overshoot, elastic bounce, blur, parallax, or anything that loops while it’s off-screen.

Reduced motion: everything is set in its final place, the arrow sits docked in every sentence, and nothing travels.

The bare arrow on Ink. It’s the brightest icon on a home screen without using a single extra colour.

Full-bleed 1024 artwork; the platform applies the corner mask. Alternates: Paper for light store art, and a single-colour version for tinted home screens.
